Just to clarify, the gearcase shown in this picture is a #4..the #8 came along later and looks different than the #4.

...3.4 EFI Offshore Impeller - Mercury #47-85647 ...SpeedMaster Impeller - Mercury #47-89984 ...Piston Rings - #39-88256A12 ...Cylinder Head Seals - #88251 ...Cylinder Head O-Rings - #25-88923 (If removing both cylinder heads, you need two head seals & six cylinder head O-rings) ...Port Piston - Mercury #796-816878A1 ...Starboard Piston - Mercury #797-816879A1 Just a guess on all of this. Could be completely off course. Mike Butler might be more help. On everything made at Mercury Racing/Mercury Hi-Performance, there is an original bill of materials created in the beginning. He might have access to these. Mercury part numbers on hard parts that are NLA, are just that...NLA. They have little use elsewhere. Seaway Marine in Seattle, had a few parts & pieces left, a few years ago. Now? There number is: 206-937-7373...if that's even good anymore?

I have 2 of 3.4 L formulas EFIs with Brucato ACU and steam wheel - adapter to run 3.0 L sport masters - brand new rebuilt - run up on the hose only - looking for a boat - Ron Anderson figured they’ll make more than 400 hp tuned.

Hey BC Black Max..... What exhaust housings are you using?.... I was thinking of using 3.0 housings and adapting the PH...... easyer to cut 3.0s to 20 inch than to cut 3.4s........Adapting sporty to 3.4.......the 4 bolts are close......too close to use a plate.....weld up holes and re drill.... How did you do it? thanks.

i left the 3.4 mid Over night at Lee Davies house (F1 boat Merc Guru) he took a look at it and saw that it was close on the bottom of the mid to an Alpha and sport master pattern- he made a paper template that I took to my machine buddy - machine buddy hand bombed a 1” thick 6061 aluminum plate that bolts to the 3.4 mid with the Alpha / sport master pattern. Then we made a custom mid shaft to go between the sporty and 3.4 PH using a cosworth 25” shaft, coupled with a standard Merc coupler froma 300X that uses the stubby drive shaft like an Alpha.. Finally took the parts to a CNC guy that made them into a file that can be water jet cut out for the plates and re splined some of the shafts. The last thing was to cut down 25” water tubes and shifter shafts. It’s a few more steps - but the 3.0l power head spline is different to the 3.4 so no matter what you have to use a custom shaft between the sporty and the 3.4z
if you look up some of my old posts there are pictures...

i also have found the Texmo Moth- and would like to collaborate to rebuild it - and re power with my motors for some Merc demonstration events.
    Hey Merc - sponsorship?

You might want to contact Marv Hart, he wanted to work with Brian at one time to rebuild it. Is it still at Brian's? Haven't heard from him in a while.
