What are you referring to? I didn't have to change a thing from the 86 to the 89 head thermostats.

The only other mod I am considering doing if you even call it a mod is putting the Chris Carson reeds in. I had them on the '86 2.7 I just haven't swap the intake to the 89 engine yet. I have a new set of reeds also. I'll probably take some time and clean up the intakes and try to fabricate or get the Chris Carson Reed stuffers and modify them to fit and make sure everything clears. I ordered the 23 inch prop witch should be here by the end of next week I'm excited to get out there and give it a try.

Ok, now I need to ask for help on the Tach if anyone has input. I just swapped a "New" regulator, it was a CDI regulator from the 2nd engine I bought of a pair...Still no tach working... Does the wire that the tach gets the signal from run through the key switch? I know the harness plugs in to the control box and then back out to the dash.. This is really got me now...it used to work when I got the boat with the original '86 200 XP.. Is something different in the harness for an '89? BTW, I am heading out now with the new jets, the prop I ordered on Ebay was lost by Fedex so now I am back to square one on getting the bigger prop..I'll let you know how it works with the new jets..Just dont have time to mess with the tach any more now..
