Wiseco pistons for a v6 merc

Ive read horror stories of earlier wisecos dropping ring locating pins; with that said, im looking at a set of wisecos for a good price, but im not sure if they are the earlier production pistons. How would I be able to tell? I have attached an actual picture of the piston(s) Thanks so much you guys.

If ya got the coated skirt pistons they are the newer ones,if they got the W design in the coating they are the newest design that I know of.Should be no problem.

A well known engine builder just told me last week that he has several hi rpm race motors running new wisecos now with side pins and no problems.
