    Painting Stainless Steel

I'm working on my Mercury 2.0L V6 project and the cowling brackets under the motor are stainless steel. The only experience I've had painting stainless is on a few SST II OMC props after repairs, but that paint never stuck. Are there any secrets/tips to preparation and/or primers to use to ensure these brackets don't peel and flake like the factory ones did? I have already bead blasted them.

    Thanks, Gordon

Epoxy primer like awlgrip 545 or similar. Bead blast and wipe clean, coat immediately.
