Wow Capt.-that was a little rough...

You will spend 20k on that boat to make it right if the structural issues aren't too bad. Rule of thumb for boat restoration cost "take what you think will be the worst case and double it"--I have done several and it seems to be a pretty accurate guideline.

This is a friends boat that I would think could be purchased in the mid teen$, 502/430hp w/low hours. Owner as back issues and can't enjoy running anymore... located in western PA, message and can give his phone number. Photo with wrap.

Gasket in starboard manifold is done from the picture, manifolds are rotton. I wouldnt be surprised if it had water in it. Do a leak down or at minimum compression.

Pull the drive and inspect the gimble housing and input before buying.

    EDIT: nevermind. Lol

So it really blew up today. The Kid wasn't getting back to me about my refund, so I put him on blast on Facebook marketplace. I posted a very similar ad to his own, and posted the details I found about the boat, the lie about it being a good motor, the coverup on the rusted trailer, how the kid ran off with my deposit, how he blocked me on Facebook, etc etc.

Boy, you need some popcorn for these comments.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of you knew his father - he's big into the offshore boats here in new England, and apparently is now getting involved with his son.

The funniest comment so far was someone told the kid to run through a cornfield backwards.

Those are pretty cushy and nice anyway. The v6s will make it easier to service.
