    Injector cleaners as maintance service?

Before retiring the dealership used BG-K44 and was the only product approved and covered as warranty for injector issues. They all claim to work such as techron, quick-clean, seafoam, and many more. An engine with NO running issues... what's proven to work?

BG gonna be hard to beat. Unbelievably good products. If they make it, it works. We use BG products at the shop and have seen amazing results from quieting noisy a/c compressors, p/s pumps, cleaning carbon from intake/valves, cleaning injectors, rust penetration and the list goes on.

I've had good results with seafoam. Been keeping the injectors and carbs clean on my motors. Seafoam even took the carbon buildup off the lawn mowers exhaust valve....thing ran like it was brand new

Every Injector whether it be Bosch, Khein, Yamaha etc or Automotive, marine, Jet Ski, Motorcycle, Snow mobile etc has a small screen pressed in the intake end of the injector. No amount of Injector cleaner or Brand for that matter can remove the trash build up that those little tiny screens capture. Injector cleaners only keep the Injector nozzle clean thats it!!! When I do Race injectors we dont replace the screens as we prefer to rely on the filters in the fuel system to filter any trash before it gets to the injector. Those filters should be taken apart and cleaned or replaced on a regular basis. On all other applications I install new injector screens. The only other way to remove the trash those little screens trap is to remove and replace them (which takes a special removal tool) or to reverse flush the injectors which can only be done on a Injector machine. And some times that works and some times it dont!!! Anyone that dont believe me Text me @ 757-544-1787 and ill text you two videos of injectors on one of my machines that shows Flow before the screens are removed and after. I tried posting them but cant get them to down load. And as far as the Mercury Bosch Race injectors the screen cant be removed unless the hose if cut off. Because Ill guarantee you there is no way on Gods Green earth youre going to pull it off. Then a new hose needs to be installed. Click image for larger version.

A place I used to work at had a air powered machine that you mixed a cleaner and gas into the reservoir then added air regulated to correct psi and ran the engine off it for a minute or so. Worked fantastic, i don’t recall the brand name though

Dealer VW/AUDI shop had similar tool but ran 100% on the cleaner. personal VW 2L(60K miles) with direct injection had bad carbon/crap on the intake valves which cause misfire on cold startup. I ran BG intake cleaner and it missed even more. Took the intake off and all the buildup got mushy... so I had to manually walnut blast to clean. BG guy said I should of been doing the cleaner every oil change, which on VW was 7500miles(OUCH)!

My vote is no screens and Seafoam....I do run a lot of Chevron gas with the Techrolene in it out of the pump.
