Paddle wheel speed sensors, up to what speed?
So I have this few year old but almost never used Lowrance Mark-5x, black and white screen basic SONAR. Depth and water temp were what I use it for. But it has an input for a paddle wheel speed sensor, which I bought off eBay. Question... are these only for trolling speed? Or are they good up to say 55mph plus or minus a bit? (Not looking for race grade precision here).

That’s for the transducer. Interesting info. But not what I’m looking for.

Interesting. And confusing. That 70mph speed is published in the chart for the specs of the SONAR feature. It uses an ordinary skimmer transducer with temperature, that came with the unit. Then I bought a paddle wheel that also has temperature. It is not a transducer. It’s only a speed sensor with a temp sensor. When plugged into the unit, there are two temperatures available. One from the skimmer transducer and one from the paddle wheel. I can display both at the same time.
