Yeah, they are crazy expensive and a bitch to work on but that's a bit insane. Lol

I'd have to look but I think we are like 800-900 a motor for oil and filter, wp, tstats, anodes (external and internal) fuel filters, gear lube and plugs.

Thanks at the shop, on the road it goes up a bit, and if it's on a lift and I need my service boat to drop the cases it an extra $150 on the bill

Ford cars and trucks have used them for heater hoses since the mid 90's. New hose comes with a new ring so if you break the old one, no big deal. First one I changed, I thought it was pretty chincy. You know, "give me a screwdriver and a hose clamp any day" . Then bent over and down between the motor and firewall, pull the ring back it's off ... just push the hose with one hand ... click its on ... OK, it's a good idea, I like it

    Thumbs down

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT a FN minuite,,,, your telling me that after 10-10 hr fishing trips you have to spend that kind of money ???? that's is insane, talk about " drinking the koolaide " a classmate just got a Contender w/4 400 R's and he has to spend the better part of 10 grand every 10 trips out for service ??? I'm sorry, that just is stupid mathematically . give me a 42' Hatteras w/AC, toilet, galley, 2-10,000 hr Detroits before rebuild (and truth be told probably more if you are consistent with maintenance) instead of Mr.Fancypants $ 500,000 worth of loose your ass kind of money , but then again he never keeps one, gets dealer pricing and sells before they are a year old. but for the guy that keeps one for 3 or 4 yrs, crazy to waste that kind of money unless you can write it off for a business. fun out

    Keith,

The guys that are buying these are NOT on a budget limitation like we are #1. Secondly, your idea of a 42 Hatteras will just be getting to the destination while the quad outboard boat is half way back "they are capable of 90 mph". 3rd the cost of maintaining a boat that has to stay in the water will far exceed the cost spent on maintaining a dozen of these motors (slip, power, bottom cleaning, paint, shaft packings, fuel usage, insurance, and basic power maintenance" all add up really fast on a big boat compared to one that goes on the trailer or in a rack when you are done.

    Cool

got a dock just past my pool in my back yard, at 18 scraped 65' shrimp boat hulls and painted in a day in key west at Steadmans Boatyard. shaft packings are a once a 5 yr. type of deal, talk about fuel, 4 at 20 gallons an hour,,, lets see ,,,that's 80 gallons an hour ,,, hmm I'm just not getting it. yes, it's fast but that's about all it's good for, he fishes the Kingfish circuit and may run from Jax as far as New Smyrna and back in a day, the 3 engine one held 1500 gallons of fuel or some such # and no place for the princess to pee. that is just stupid. but he has a seafood restaurant and can write off for advertisement, while the rest of us poor schlubs stand back and watch. I'll take the Hatteras and a queen size nap spot while he's literally running over the top of the fish to get to where ever, one dude won the tournament in a 15' aluminum boat with a pool umbrella at the end of the jetty.

make that 500 gallons of fuel and 1500.00 to fill it up, still bs

No.... that video is not a 100hpur service. It's a 300 hour service, and the price for the 350 Yamaha's is insanely over inflated

When I first started in this business, you could do a 100 hour service on a V-6 200 for under $100
