Loss of water pressure, bringing the engine back down with no speed gain. Excessive bow lift over 5 degrees tends to cause a plowing effect slowing you down.
Technicly you cant really gave to much but it’s works out more like balance issues.
Ok dunking the motor on take off would probably qualify.

Completed testing with 10" total setback. Requires slightly more positive trim to achieve max speed which unfortunately is only 63 and that is spinning the 24 scorpion. 26 Promax runs about .5 slower...… bolting back on the 8" brackets tonight (giving me 14" total) and I should end up back at 64.5mph turning the scorpion. I will once again test with the Promax to see but I think my answer is likely going to be more setback. if I compare to my buddys 21 pulsare (I know different boat) hes running a total of 16" setback. I believe that my previous top speed of 68 was achieved because the 25" mid jacked all the way up and trimmed up was adding more setback than I currently am now with 14" and a 20" mid. maybe ill run some 10" brackets next year because I am honestly tired of bolting and unbolting for the year lol.

Promax prop did not perform any better. was even worse out of the hole with that much setback and dropped 2mph. switched back to the 24 scorpion and managed to hit 65. I may test a 25 scorpion before years end but weather is starting to get cold, hoping for a warm September.
