    tha "bucket deal" will be mis-leading compared to tha lake..... does tha stream increase with a tad bit of throttle?.. picture of water pressure?.. have ya tested tha buzzer?

    I read the whole thread and maybe I missed it somewhere, but did you pull the gear case and check the impeller? I bought a MOD VP NEW in 1986 and I boat on a weedy lake and my biggest problem was weeds getting stuck where the water divides in the older CLE with the narrow side plates. If you still have an older CLE it's easy to pull the side plates and check it out. My motor had 2-piece heads with .80 stamped on top of each head. I ran 100LL AVGAS back in the 1980's,(it was $2.09 a gallon, LOL!!) I was at about 175lb compression with stock heads.

    Haven’t had time to test the buzzer yet but hopefully I’ll get around to it in the next few days. I’ve gotta get another container before I let it run again. Could barely fit the prop in lol

    Compression, as I mentioned before should be less than 140 LBS. The two piece heads were typical for that motor out of the factory. Take a compression check, if your 150 - 170 LBS compression, that is too high for pump gas. 140 LBS is where you want to be. I personally removed
    the two peice and went with the one peice head as found on the 2.0 litre or 200 merc, you will also need new head bolts as the two piece and one piece are not interchangable. They can be milled .030 to give you added compression and still run pump gas. Although, the gain is minimal and most likley only in mid range. If you go the one peice head direction, purchase thermostats, grommets and poppet valve. Check with mercury parts for all that you need. As far as water pressure: 5 LBS @ idle minimum, 15 LBS @ WOT minimum (20 LBS ideal).

    that motor with that plate does not use a poppet and t-stats... jus washers with 1/8" hole.. no poppet guts, jus a cover... pressure will vary with discharge thru tha plate (number and size of discharge holes) and poppet cover dump.. some one piece plate motors straight outta tha box in earlier years would show "0" at idle and no more than 10 lbs. at tha most at 8 grand.. would really make ya nervous till ya find out its "normal" for that particular motor...

    This is too funny. Been following from beginning. 2 mins to test the buzzer(Haven’t had time to test the buzzer yet but hopefully I’ll get around to it in the next few days. I’ve gotta get another container before I let it run again.) You will do all that and not listen to this best advice your are getting from seasoned veteran's and risk serious damage messing around wondering if its cooling proper. I normally don't jump in on these but this is killing even me. Test the warning circuit, drop the lower and replace pump for piece of insurance and get a dam compression gauge or drag it to any auto guy and give him 20 bucks to test it. Those old motors getting too hard to come by and you are gonna ruin it jerking around. If you don't have sense enough to follow great advice then why you wasting good guys time. Hell before SS TOM offered I thought I might offer to meet ya and do it all real quick as I am by ya twice a month passing thru but your not showing good sense so far.

    Look dude, I’m sorry you feel that way. I’m not good with wiring. I’d have to sit down and figure it out. It would probably take me 3 hours and I just don’t have time to sit down for 3 hours and figure out a friggin buzzer when I can let the pros do it. I’ve never messed with boats before. I’m just trying to learn as I go here. I’m sorry for apparently wasting everyone’s time. I’ll just hop off here. Tom maybe I can catch ya sometime. I apologize once again.     top plastic block, with key on, ground tha screw with tha two wires terminated under it.. might be able ta use a screwdriver across that screw and tha mounting screw next to it..you can also de-term tha two wires and ground tha one goin' inta tha harness... should get tha buzzer.

    I really think you need to get it pumping water before you test anything else. It’s not pumping water at all in your video. If everything was working right it would empty that small bucket pretty fast. No wires involved in fixing that!
