Thanks.. Makes sense in regards to the Vengeance. Why anyone would spend $300.00 more on a stainless for the same performance is beyond my understanding.
Slip calculator shows me @ 16%
If MPH was @ 40 (approx. 3 more MPH) I would be @ 10%
By the way, RPM's were identical both SOLAS and Vengeance. As mentioned the MPH however was not and quite a difference of 5 MPH.
The weather here has changed in terms of humidity. 37 MPH over the weekend, tried the Vengeance once again, same RPM best I could get out of the prop was 31 MPH. The Vengeance has been sold today, thankfully.

I'm hitting the REV limiter and I have reason to believe that the SOLAS wants to run out past the limiter. I caution myself about removing the limiter on this motor due to vibration and crank failure, I read. However, someone here posted that 5500 would be safe, the REV limiter is set 5350.
Still, a little nervous running past the limiter.

I think 5250 is max for 1994-2005
if the solas is hitting 5300 and tach is right and beeps
Then go up a inch in pitch or try the spitfire or solas 4 blade if you want to stay aluminum.
