    Optimax air rail dump hose

Anybody just dump the air under the skirt? Putting on a x mid, but wondering if it's really necessary to drill and tap it to dump with the hot water.

I haven't done it but that famous optimax air pump noise is magnified by five if u let it dump like that. Early optimax motor had it ran back into intake plenum

Yea I messed up when i did mine, I just drilled a hole in the floor of the lower cowl and have it exit there. You can here the puffing of the air but the engine is so loud to begin with I don't think it affects much.

did this image help you? You talking about a 2.5L right? Small mistake two red circles on the lower pictured silver plate should be on the upper two holes but doesn't really matter as it all dumps into the same area.

I dump mine into the cowl but have a muffler on the end of the hose to minimize the huffer noise. I plugged the top outlet, drilled and tapped the angled side of it so that it has clearance. Works well and noise is way less intrusive then it was when it went up into the air plenum.

Now that I am home and looking not sure where to dump it. Is it supposed to go in with the exit water, or catch a cavity that is exhaust?
