    Dave on a Roll.....FANS....window types...

    Picked up an OLD fan.....The cord got hot.... when running... blew the Breacker.....???? do old fans use more power than the new/plastic.....fans? The one in ???? has the old cage/bigg motor.....Just asking....But it Spinns so freely....????Thanks Greg.....

    Got resistance somewhere. In a connection or motor. Heat is an indicator of excessive resistance. I would replace the cord with a heavier one 1st and go from there.

    I agree friction or bad wire or plug in contact. Been it’s old maybe brushes are also warmed that will certainly cause heat.

    It is a squirrel cage fan? What is it off of? All of those I have seen like to be restricted. Other wise they won't spin fast enough, not only being less efficient, but also creating more load. If a power cord doesn't get it, I would check that.

    The squirrel ran off with my nuts......Dammm stupid.... HEE Hee...no it's a big 3 blade one.... Prob 1/2 hp motor.....just wondering if the newer stuff is more..... better power use wise....?Thanks....

    Yea, I am sure they are to a point. I still have an OLD table fan made by Hunter. Pretty sure it will out last me as I inherited it from my grandmother.
