Looking for a starter R/C boat

Ever since I was a kid and saw a guy on the dock with a gas radio controlled boat I've wanted one. I'm between full size boat builds now and would like to possibly get into this. Now for the question:
Can someone steer me towards a shop in FL or a website that sells entry level R/C gas powered cat hulls. Not lookin to re mortgage the house or any thing, just somethin to play with on the lakes and rivers.
    Thanks

Contact Tom Foley! He's in FL, knows them very well and even races them.
I have this one I would let go cheap!
It is around 3 1/2'. Built it long ago and been sitting for long while.
Shipping will probably not work, maybe Frank Mole can bring it down in one of his trips.

Haha, I just pictured in my head Frank firing up his tow rig to deliver a 3.5ft boat....
I'll send Tom a PM. Thank you for your offer but I have a cat hull style boat stuck in my head.

Villain II? Those were popular monohulls when I saw one running years ago.

Me too...imagine Frank towing a 35 foot trailer, with a 3.5 boat tied down!

There are some guys that run at a lake on six mile cypress pkwy in S Ft Myers sometimes. Have stopped and watched. Some fairly fast outriggers etc. And some other stuff too.

Dumas Hotshot with .21 OS. The set up was built and never started, have fuel tank but haven't installed it yet. The only paint is the black windshield, all other lettering and trim is easily removable.

When I purchased the motor from Tower Hobbies it was about $350. On eBay they are now selling for $550. The boat is made of ABS as I didn't want to deal with the wood version and I purchased that for about $125. It has 2 servos that are about $20 each. So without the radio the out of pocket cost was about $500. There are a few You Tube videos of similar Hot Shots with the .21 if you want to see one in action.
