Recommendation for a handheld GPS, boat friendly?

My old handheld Garmin Etrex now periodically shuts down in the middle of operation even with good fresh batteries. It otherwise works fine, but it's bugging me too much to put up with now.

So looking for a good handheld. Simple. Does not have to be color or touch screen. I'd rather have the battery life. All I need is speed, and arrow to point at a waypoint, and the ability to store a few waypoints.

    Recommendations?

What about a Garmin Rino 530HCx. I have never used mine on the boat as you can see the whole pond from one end the the other. Works great on the ATV how ever.

You can get Android tablets with GPS... run Google Maps or Google Earth; so cheap they're basically "disposable".
