    2 pce plate water routing

Can you remove the poppet valve replace it with a dump hose, and remove the thermostats and replace them with washers in a 2 pce exhaust plate? Kinda like the hi-po water routing. Have never tried it and am thinking it. I think it should work.

What your talking about sounds like the greg moss cooling mods. Except you leave the puppet in and drill and tap holes in the plate for dump hoses and block of thermostats completely.

if ya lookin' for tha "cool" factor (only reason most want tha look) of two hose's stickin' outta tha cowl and in TX. water jus use washers with 3/8' hole instead of stats (all though full stats would be better for tha motor) with hose off each bank... and LEAVE tha poppet alone...………… jmo

Okay after reading and researching this, i have decided to go back to the two piece plate and use the thermostats and poppet valve as originally plumbed. I only turn this motor 60000-6500, and only for short periods, so it makes more sense to me. I have solid mounts in the bottom alrready, have some for the top two piece plate, so sounds like that is my best idea. I will keep the 2.4 one piece exhaust for my other boat that I
    turn 8000. Thanks
