The 200 pro max has the smaller 4 or 5 petal front, depending on year whether its a 4 or 5. 225 has a 7 petal. The porting is different, especially earlier models, not so much different on the later models. The 200 also has the smaller square exhaust exits compared to the larger rectangular on a 225. Depending on what your looking for, like what you want to improve on motor, low end, mid range, or top end, and ease of work/cost dictates mods you can do.

Most of the inexpensive easy to do mods improve holeshot and mid range, but help top end only slightly. To get sizeable gains in top end requires more specialized work and going completely into powerhead. Things to improve mid range includes tightening heads up, running super unleaded, indexing flywheel and fine tuning timing ( I would stay around max timing at 23BTDC on tournament rig), install CCMS reeds, stuffers, and 1 inch spacer, bobs tuner and clean up adaptor plate ports.

Even though a 200 is a good motor I would suggest to find a 225. It will take a bit of $ and work to get the 200 to perform like a 225...MPO
