pontoon decking
I am having trouble finding 5/8 green treated KDAT plywood in small quantities. I can get full units from several places but can't seem to find someone to sell me a couple sheets. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Appreciate everyone's suggestions but Boulter does not carry KDAT and Pontoonstuff has the material but has a 4 sheet minimum at $105 per sheet and I only need 2 sheets so I guess I am still looking. Thanks again.

So what is the advantage to using that $ plywood to regular PT, once on the boat I would think it would dry out quick?

Apparently you have not tried working with standard pressure treated plywood fastened to aluminum. Will not stay flat, will not hold glue, and will eat your aluminum. The number one reason is I guarantee my work to last as long as the owner. Other than that I spose it would be OK. The KDAT I have always used is getting real hard to find. It's very similar to high quality marine grade 7 ply. If I was not sooo old I would buy a full unit however at my age I doubt I will ever need it again. You are correct in that it would dry out pretty quick once on boat however only on areas not in direct contact with support rails which is where the most serious damage will occur.

Twenty some years ago I used 3/4 PT on my 24 ft. toon, a few days in the Fl. sun... it's kiln-dried

Rock, have you thought about using an insulating tape barrier between the aluminum beams and the wood?

I have seen it before and that might solve one issue but you still have to be able to glue down carpet. The big issue on this project is it is not a pontoon so material is going down on aluminum deck so it is full contact which is not going to allow it to dry out very well or quickly. If it was mine I would just carpet over aluminum but the customer wants the plywood in place to help quiet boat. To each his own. Boulter, the first recommendation, sent me samples of their marine ply which is very nice but with the full contact I doubt it would last real long. I thought about sealing material with resin but as soon as someone screws something to floor there goes the integrity of the seal.
I appreciate everyone's input. I will find the material I am confident with or I will pass on the project.

I have played with West systems epoxy a little and i would think if you used reg plywood, made all the cuts then soaked it down with unthickened epoxy, then screwed it and went over the screw heads with so epoxy on a foam brush???.
