Central Florida Fun Run 7/13 DeLand

There will be a group of people getting together Saturday to run from DeLand (St Rt 44) up to Silver Glen and then to Renegades *if lake George isn't blown up". We are thinking of leaving the ramp around 10. The speed limit up to Lk. George is 30 mph so watch for grey and green center consoles (they carry lasers now). Should be a decent size group from the response so far. Everyone is welcome but please use your head as we already seem to have targets on our backs.

So, you should be coming through Astor around 10:30.

I hope the storms lay back by then. With this disturbance in the gulf storms have been starting up around 1:00 almost every day. And they are strong, lots of wind and lightning.

We’re doing a staycation in Astor this week so we’ll hook up when you guys come through. You going to be in the STV? What other boats should I look for?

And I can confirm the enforcement, we don’t even take the Talon south anymore, no fun at all. They sit in Beresford and then just north of the last no wake before the lake. Lately they have been doing targeted enforcement for sea lice (Jet Skis). They used our little community ramp to launch additional enforcement boats a couple weekends ago. I cannot believe how many skis are on the river on the weekends. One ass hat almost drove over my transom a couple weeks ago when I came off plane for the no wake zone @ South Moon

Kind of embarrassed to ask but I usually don’t need to refuel the Talon on the river. Is there anyone pumping Premium? I can get ethanol free at Midway in Astor but I think it’s only 89. Good enough for the Yamaha on the Key West but not for the XS.

New Smyrna weather says 20% rain Saturday and of course it could change. Maybe we'll get lucky and the storm system in the gulf will keep us dry for the weekend.

Should be in Astor by 11 or so. Yes, I will have my STV. If it storms, we will hang out at Paul and Terri's.

You will need to pull it out for prem., the little place South of Blackwater has 90 Rec. and same for Renegades. We need the 300R motors to buy gas on the water.

Thanks, that’s what Paul said too. We didn’t burn much today so we should be ok.

You can run the 90 as long as you don't stretch out the motor. Cruising works fine. I got stuck a few years ago and had to run 87. I cruised at 4000 rpm and got home with no issues. 27 Eliminator with twin 300xs motors.

...of course cruising is pretty nice when you get to sit back and enjoy the hum of twin 300's behind ya!
