Just picked up a 200 merc....Has what looks like a 89 cover...... but don't have 7 pedddel reeds and has a 2 wire trim and 2 rects on the back plate?????no H2o flush..... No tag to read......so short of pulling apart.... to see what the inside is.... how can I tell the year??? the starter is not readable....all clues are gone..... but has new style head bolts....w/ out washers 90% type.......looks like C5 on heads..... /gasket style.....

488 5c heads... non pumper carbs.....and yes I found a date....... 97.... and a stamted F.....just the square 89 covers threw me off.....$300 well spent........love peeps that buy 4 STROKES.......now I will raise the Ports..... Hee Heee.....and make some SMOKE........25/1.......

Up date.... as it is hanging on a chain....no comp #s.....being the lazy sort.... HeeHee.... I just pulled the head off......Nasty... but I can fix it.... Dammm Mercury whit the cheep plastic bearing cages...Drop one Drop all....Groovey.......on the wall..........But such a clean motor..... some one musta liked his boat...... REAL clean........2/bad... I will make a shorty/2.5 grenade out of it.
