    ISO of pair or triple outboards

    Converting Al Copelands race cat to a double or triple outboard set up. Thinking 225+ hp each. Boat is around 9,000lbs.

    your going to need more like 3 300's to move 9000 lbs to 80 mph and she going to hop at that speed ,so might rethink power options more is better ,what length ?

    31'. 9'4 wide at the widest. I might be shooting high. I mean its all fiberglass. Not much too it but seats. But its on a triple axle so im figuring over 5k. I only boat on about a 10 mile stretch of river. Ive always owned v hull big blocks. I still have the idea to stick with v8s. Just feel that outboards are more efficient/cost effective/easier maintenance. If i went inboards what do you think for minimum horsepower. Probably need surface drives.

    My brother in law had a 32 skater with 525,s did 120 on 87 octain sweet ride hardly no up keep , your going to need at least that for your ride or 3 300 outboards ,his boat now 36 talon with 3 300 x runs 105

    I got my eyes on a built up set of 454 pushing 675 each. Or a set of 575s. Im gonna run surface drives.
