Will be interesting as the length and width and its center balance was designed for older style motor weights so will be very interesting to watch this mold come alive and see what or how this boat will handle and preform will be interesting to see what comes of this first build

One mold the cougar 25mtr people have put twin 300x on back ya you can does it handle like it should no 300x are way heavier the mercury 2.5 280 boat proforms way better and packs air faster and rides way more stable so will be interesting to see how the 22 mtr will proform any where near cougar Canada build like one trying to stuff Chevy big block in a Volkswagen

your big 450 hp outboards are dam heavy, definitely when you consider its all hanging out behind the boat. Funny, I can remember when people hated the OMC V8's because they where so much heavier than the Mercurys. why not just run a I/O, same 4 stroke tech. then the hull is much more balanced.

Cougar boats in their time of Canadian build were hard to beat but as company came to end and years later come back to life in the US just does not come close to when boat was first out and as we know way more designs out their that are light designed to hang newer motors as we know most had to retool to build and keep up but see old cougar mold if one kept the design or lay up scedule and used the or built it the cougar Canada build one can make boat pack air proformance whould or could be unreal but change the weights around and mess with center of balance could be a boat at high speeds out of control or very unpredictable so like to see this build going to be interesting but whould not ever hang the newer heavy outboard on it but that's just me but lot of builders of boats I think whould feel the same

    team supra and everyone
I have been in contact with Joe during the process and he has news but he is not quite ready to post anything. He told me he will post the progress on the board soon.
    Thanks for your patience

Hi All, since Gary is sort of letting the cat(lol) out of the bag

Here's what I can throw out there

We will not use the Cougar name since we don't own or didn't buy Cougar even though I have a great relationship with Berney

Our company name is officially Axiom Omega Designs

Sorry for the odd post. I see my surface has a mind of its own.

    Boats are Axiom Omega Designs

The previous Cougar 22 molds have been gone through, some minor changes and set up for resin infusion vacuum

The old Cougar 22 is now designated C22 and there will be 3 trim levels eventually offered
C22S model - kind of plain Jane across the board in white with 200hp-300hp
C22R model - 2 color gel, upgraded multi color interior, higher end finish, accessories and stereo 300hp
C22X model - multi color gel and exposed carbon fiber, over the top everything including alcantara interior, electronics and multi Amp stereo 300hp-450hp. This offering probably won't happen for at least 6 months

There is also a flats/fishing platform arriving as the F21

All boats are gelcoat, barrier coat, 3oz skin coat, quadaxial, biaxial, C130 core, Coosa transom bulkheads, stringers all vinylester resin infused composites

I am happy to see the 22 live on with the appropriate upgrades and improvements it needed

Please excuse if my posts are not right with pics

    Thanks Joe

Just to be clear, just because you posted all of this on April Fools Day, this is for real, right??

I wish you the best of luck with this, I'm obviously a fan of boats in this size range.

Good luck, and keep us posted of your progress, maybe in the Photo or Restorations/Builds thread area, you'll probably get way more exposure (Just a suggestion)

Not an April Fool's Joke. Joe has been sending updates and photos for a few months but I told him I would let him post any developments when he was ready.
    Thanks

Let me know what 450 I/O combination hp weighs anywhere close to 700 Lbs. If you were to find one, the new outboards would run circles around it. My guess is that this hull will be more suited for a 300R and still be a strong performer. Hats off to Joe for chasing this to production. This is the new "small boat category" if you want to play on any decent size body of water that contains wake board boats and the ever growing size of boats in general.
