You got it, it's a light weight mat used for (among other things) print through and spider crack mitigation. Also used for a final layer on B-side parts to minimize texture. This stuff is 50g/sq. meter or roughly 1oz./sq. yd.

    Update

Getting things ready to start November first production run

I would like to hear from people in our performance boating circles on what they would want and look for in a small performance sport cat

    Info like
    Construction
    Colors, designs, paint, gelcoat, etc
    Power, I/O, outboard
    Gas tank size
    Expected speed to motor size
    Warranty
    Price
    Motor choice
    Boat features and included options
Other items I may have missed

I appreciate all feedback whether on forum or PM. Thank You

    What is looking to happen:
Layup construction under review but leaning to Quadraxial and Biaxial glass with Foam Core(haven't finalized but leaning to Divinycell H100 core), Double Staged and Glassed Coosa Transom, Coosa full length stringers and bulkheads all utilizing Vinylester resin. Just finalizing engineers recommendations

Company name hasn't been agreed upon so taking ideas

I hope to have something to post soon on look, features, etc

Thanks for the feedback in advance

Copy and paste in fiberglass section, or general or both, I believe you can forget about IOs with 450 HP outboards

    What about your experience?

Boat building is a tough business, I would send a PM to Wildman, he could answer a lot of your questions since this size boat is his niche

    .

just a little background on CrazyFish, he's an engineer early on in his career and can design, implement, and build tooling for cats 36 feet and above

he has extensive boat building experience as well and is currently planning to build utilizing composites materials which will eventually transform to more modern build practices

time will show this, keep an eye on crazyfish as he moves forward in this project

might be worth making this post outside of the buy and sell for a greater input.

    22 Cougar mold

    Joe
It was great speaking with you last night and I am looking forward to seeing this great hull being produced again using modern building techniques and materials. I am on my third 22MTR and it is my favourite boat of all that I have owned. I will go through my materials and info on the original Cougars and e-mail you anything that I find. Keep us posted on the progress.
    Thanks
    Gary

Making it light, strong, and fast will be your key to success. The struggle everyone has is doing the aforementioned at a price that average guys can afford all while maintaining enough profitability in it to where "the squeeze effort is worth the juice". Its not easy or we would have more choices of new small performance boats.

You will also need to take the time and effort to have your product put into the NADA value guide so that people can finance them "Randy did this for Dave Adams at Liberator" and it changed their world. Your product also has to be insurable for people to obtain conventional financing so that is another area to research. Jim "Cuda" mentioned talking to Randy above and I too would strongly recommend that as he sells more new small performance boats then most and would be a great potential sales partner.

I hope you succeed beyond your wildest dreams-nothing better then seeing people flourish with small business ideas along with guts and drive to make them happen.

    Joe

Are there any updates to the progress of the build. Haven’t seen anything in a while.

I love the fact your up north. where do you plan on building? Are you setting the boats up to run the new heavy 4 strokes or the faster old two strokes?
