Top Heavy Tunnel Hull ? -Video-

How fast? I don’t know haha. I can’t hold my phone gps at the same time as holding the wheel when she’s about to barrel roll haha. But going slower, When it’s showing 35mph on the vesselview via the paddle wheel input, my gps shows 40mph. So it’s def reading at least 5mph slow.
So at 60mph indicated on the vessel view, (maybe 65 tru mph?) She starts to porpoise. If I try to drive through the porpoise, trim up or neutral, she starts to jump out of the water! Then prop walks and gets almost into a barrel roll haha.
I learned about tunnel skirts on this website- wondering if that would help.
Move already relocated the battery to the front, I think the next is also moving the gas tank forward.

I have a through-hub 23 cleaver on it right now. I’ve got a 24 over-hub cleaver coming in the mail from a s&f member to try next.
Prop shaft currently is about 2” above the pads. It hopped worse with the motor lower.

Taking recommendations for what to try next.

What type of prop are you running on this rig. I have had many old school type tunnels hulls in my life and think I know a thing or three about how they perform. Please provide a picture of your prop from the rear and I will bet that I can help you with this problem or give me a call at 541 570 0955 out here in Oregon.

    Best wishes, Carter Powell

I think we (no offense OP, been there young, I'm 69 now)) but .."this should work!" is a learning lesson simple! There ARE limits but "he's wrong, young and simple young says .."! Oh really?

Still in force today! (And may the 4TH be with you

Newton's three laws of motion may be stated as follows: Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it. Force equals mass times acceleration [ ]. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

ID:	443497 23 pitch, through hub cleaver. I've got a 24 pitch over hub cleaver that just came in the mail. I can't tuck the motor much anymore - but I can go a little higher. And, FYI, it's an optical illusion that the pads aren't level. They are dead nuts level, checked with straight edge.
