(Performance) boat insurance
So I’m buying a popular 20’ outboard tunnel. I start checking insurance costs only to find out Usaa won’t insure it because it can go faster than 75. Formost won’t because even though I’ve owned 4 boats dating back 20years none were performance enough so I lack experience. Progressive and geico were along the same lines but I finally got it through Allstate. Anyone else have this or just me? My driving records fine too!

Insurance companies don't like to take chances anymore. I been boating since 86 and STV, Skater, Cougar boats since 1999. Never a claim, but was sur-charged because my Checkmate goes into the low 60's!

Wozencraft can get a Foremost policy underwritten as can select premier Foremost agents. Foremost limits their high performance product to specific agents, ones that specialize in marine policies and have been doing marine for a long time but for whatever reason they won’t tell you who those are. I found one here in S. Daytona that was able to get a policy issued.
Safeco quoted me as well through a large agency that specializes in marine. For both I tried other agents in my area but none could get a policy quoted so it’s hit and miss.
Of course every year I wait to see if they renew me. I’m told it’s not as tough outside of Florida but this thread seems to contradict that.Mark

Tell them it's a bass boat or you're going to use it for fishing purposes.. Progressive will insure bass boats up to 90 mph... Just went through this whole rigamarole with them...

Hi guys. Is there a preferred insurance company for a Thundercat tunnel hull inflatable boat? I am thinking of purchasing the Ceasar Thunderbolt. Thank you. Louie realdeal1003@yahoo.com
