I at least dump if not change lower unit, and pull battery. What else is there to do? I know some fog, but after that?

I think the "can" in the midsection is a muffler. But at idle, I can't even tell it's running. I told a guy who asked at the ramp one day, The piss stream was just my electric water pump primer motor. haha.

I've only got like 6 hours on this motor. It's not even ready for an oil change yet. But i'll probably do the lower and engine oil changes soon anyway.

There's no fogging for these motors. When you shut it off, the valves close up, and the motor stays sealed.

Well b honest , yrs ago all I did ,was make sure water drained from lower ,and add stabil, now with heated cooled gayrage I only use stabilizer, gas never stays in boat long enuff go bad , I usually change lower oil maybe once a month , just cause makes me feel better,
But SS ur right ,really nothin to it as most would think , I've had people round here try pay me to winterize there OB, and I just tell em trim motor down and stabil Haha. Most say huh ,,u sure lol.
Then I had my cousin try that with a inboard and i had explain to him , long story short ,he bought new boat this yr , he waited to long to ask

FWIW change the oil once a year if you use it a little bit. Not sure how low in time one might go, but. The blow by and other contaminates that accumulate in the oil will eat away at your gaskets. Just my .02

Agreed. I’ll do the oil anyway. But it’s really not relevant to dewinterizing lol. I don’t even have to hold the key to start it. Just blip the key over, and the motor turns its self over until started

What happens if no pop, will it just keep cranking until............or does it stop after X time?
