omc tech over oiling

2000 150 Johnson 60* eagle motor,just replaced carb bowls/and carb kits-also replaced vro pump and plugs .motor starts hard smokes badly at low speeds . runs great at 2500rpm and above,better than ever. But hard to restart,smokes bad when restarted or idle. thanx in advance-th

Make sure you do not have primer solenoid open. It is a black solenoid that opens when you push in key on cold starts. There is a red lever that is used to manually open the valve if your key switch or solenoid fails. You may have left it in open position.

Have seen idle and mid air bleeds installed in each others position, and then...................

its not running rich its overoiling,im going to look for leak in fuel sys befor vro all comments are welcome-thanx -th

Check fuel line and primer with a vacuum pump with gauge. Have seen primer bulbs that would not hold vacuum but would hold to pressure.
