Mercury Question
98 225 promax loses power when accelerating unless I really put the petal on the floor. It also seems to be at lower rpms, when running 4k+ it seems to run fine. Any ideas/leads would be greatly appreciated.

Injectors maybe fowled , check fuel pressure at test valve needs to be no more than 36 - 38 lbs if higher clean screen on return system under the regulator , check to see if timing linkage is sticky and not going to full advance , voltage tested at starter sylinoid and ground at starter needs to be 12.5 not running and 14 ish when running above 1500 rpms , also check voltage on TPI , with DDT attached check voltage when you raise throttle the voltage need to move upward a smooth motion . Also I have good luck with NGK BR9 HS gapped at .040” ..
Good luck ,

Jay I have a 16 amp charging system on the motor. I'm only seeing about 13V when running. I wasn't sure if that was normal for the 16 amp charging system. Thanks
