225 black max problem

My black max 225 will shut off when i use the trim and will also stall when in mid run anyone else had this problem? I have to charge the battery after to get it to run again

Similar problem for me was internal short / break in engine to control box harness.
Mine was different as motor would not turn off when steering wheel was turned all the way starboard. Flex in the harness when maneuvering was causing issues.
I split the harness at a suspect spot with a kink in it and was lucky enough to visably locate problem. Breakage inside the wire insulation would have been harder to locate.
This was on a Yamaha.
If you have to charge battery after episode I would check trim motor wires or battery cables for chafing or splits first as thy are pretty thick and can discharge a battery in a hurry.
Just something to think about.

Sounds like a charging issue. Check rectifier and wires to and from. Check stator output.

Mercury trim limit switch could be going bad. It will cause a lot of weird random issues.

Ok thanks guys i will check it out. The trim limit switch how would i check to see if its going bad?
