    Fuel line

I've searched pretty extensively trying to figure out the latest acceptable fuel line for my 94 procraft with a 175xri. Seems there's some problems even with the latest fuel hose out there. Can anyone simplify this and tell me what to buy? I'm planning to replace everything from the tanks to the engine.

Do an online search for "Ethanol resistant " fuel hose . Stay away from the silver colored "supposedly" ethanol resistant fuel hose as it has a plastic liner that melts after a while clogging up your system .

Not all of it. We have been using a liner free silver mercury hose for years now. Not cheap but stands up VERY well to the sun, ethonal, ect.

Agreed. If the Mercury hose has blue writing on it it is fine for use with ethanol. Mercury hose with red writing should be replaced with blue.

You can also ask for the sds from where you get fuel, and see if you need any of that.

None of them hold up to full time sun. Even merc blue will breakdown after 9 years of sun.

The primer bulb hose is gray with blue lettering. Date on it is 12/15. It has all the specs printed on it & they appear to be the latest specs. From tanks to splashwell appear to be original. What hose should be used inside the boat? I'd like to replace it all & be done with it.

I have been using this for my boats. Just using west marine for reference. You can get it cheaper other places.

Ok thanks. That helps a lot. $8.29 a foot seems a little excessive though. I'll look around.

Any fuel line that is "J1527" rated. It actually has to have that rating number printed on the side of the hose to be Coast Guard approved "legal" hose & means that it is alcohol rated.

I got a chance last night to look at the fuel lines inside the boat. They are black with red stripe, 3/8ths id. It says cg approved j1527 on it. Is it possible these are original from 1994?

Fuel line inside the boat has to be type A1 as per coast guard. And if you have a favor, the bowl must be metal if it's in the bilge area.

It does say a1 and j1527. I guess my main question is if this line could be o.e. if it could be, I should probably replace it. Did they have those markings on fuel line back in 94?

There should be a date or date code on it depending on what brand it is
