Video clip: Is this too low?

Recreational bowlder, video to follow. I just threw in the pic to show what kind of boat it is:

2.0L V150 Merc. Can do over 50mph if not overloaded. Anyway, I shot this clip yesterday cruising about 35mph. Does it look like the anti-cat plate is too low? I fee like it's skimming and not submerged. BUT, should it be clearly higher. As the video title says, it's only got one more hole to go before it's all the way down. Non adjustable jack plate.

Would you raise it a hole, or is it good?

Sorry for the vertical camera. It was safer to hold the phone that way.

I would raise 1 hole. You want to see the cav plate at the surface. The way it is, is great for pulling skiers and such with no cavitation. I think you will still be good going up one hole.

Thanks, guys. I think I will raise it one.

That was my belief, too. The reason I asked is that you can still sort of see it underneath the spray. I don't think the plate is actually fully submerged.

You could probably go up two if you wanted. Your good with all three. 4 up I would check water pressure before trying all the way up.

1 up will give you a lot though.

I run my motor all the way up on the jack plate. Plenty of water over the bullet. It's on a 19 cuddy cabin. The cav plate is just above the water when trimmed right. No lwp, lightning gear case. But I think a standard case would still get water.

Was that at or close to WOT trimmed out correctly? If it isn’t then you really don’t know where it’s running and could starve the motor of water or blow out the prop at WOT.

And yet... It's only one hole up from the video clip at the start of this thread. Maybe I should move it down one again?

in the photo, the nose cone is trimmed parallel with the pad.

Should be fine, most beep if pressure is low. Don’t rely on that though.

That should only only make the a/v plate visible.

Whats not discussed is you probably wont gain much or you could gain 10mph y being able to pitch up never know.

I dropped it back down a hole, to the original position. No more prop blowing out, either. You can still see the AV plate, but it’s obscured by spray (possible because the bottom edge of the transom has a little lip that dirties the water as it leaves the hull. Gonna have to fix that next.
