Early drag vs later

I was wondering what the differences were. Ive seen the newer ones have an eyebrow in the exhaust port. I was curious why they did the instead of raising the whole port and how they compared to each other in performance. I have an early block needing 2 sleeves and I was thinking about getting the eyebrows added. Going on boat to race 800' 1400/1600 lb class

The narrow eyebrow is easier on rings and there are some other things that come into play but the pre eyebrow Drags were very good engines and in short track I wouldn’t hesitate to run one. If that block were mine I’d put the two sleeves back in to match the others
