Yes. The slow speed used to drive like a car. Now with rear deeper and front sponsons lifted out of water for the 1st ft or 2.
When i turn right instead of front cutting right. The whole boat seems to push left. Like the front is not deep enough to track. So to pull up to the island instead of a courteous idle in between 2 boats. I have to coast in.Click image for larger version.

Dave I experienced that exact phenomenon. When I switched from twins to a single I thought I was going crazy because I expected low speed maneuverability to get worse, but it got better. It wasn’t until I read your explanation months ago and it all came together for me.

Should be a fun boat and will feel very light in comparison to what you are used to. Post the progress and results when you can.

Thats serious, I have a friend with a 32B that runs low 40s and that is fast enough for me. He holds on like a "cat to carpet" when he gets into an outboard boat LOL...

He hasn't been in the one of the new 28s but has been in my 24, 28, and 32 skaters as well as my 30 spectre. They just don't stay planted like an inboard with all of the running gear "completely different deal when the boat weighs half".

Here's a short video from some fun on the MTI 340X. This is Mercury Racing's own test boat.
