    1990 2.5 200 Hp Mercury

    Think i lost my switch box 's . Has any run the CDI units with good luck .and what is the part number .If any one have it on hand.
    Its a 1990 motor sn ODOO6834

    Also how can you test the older ones to see if they are bad with a ohm Meter .

    i dont know of a volt meter test to check just switch box ive set up a test motor with indexed fly wheel to check for double fireing and the bias(its gotta be running) but after you put on a couple thousand of them you know when its good and double fire occurs now and again but not real often

    also it matters not on what its off of 150,175,200 all will work they used to put a14 and 15 on all the hot rods but them days is gone it all a13 now or some other after markets are great

    Got a deal on the motor at the time . Dealer gave me the price of a 2.4 ,but at the time the 2.5 was coming out of the warehouse in ALT and i got a 2.5 the newer motor ?

    0D006834.... first 2.5 200.. one other thing ya need ta watch for is parts for it.. most sites will list your motor as "1991 200 only".... its all by itself!.....

    like bobby is sayin': a switch box is a switch box is a switch box when it comes ta "production" motors..
    7778A1 thru A14, you'll never notice any difference... think all have been superseded to at least A12...
