200 opti air filter
My 05 200 opti developed a miss at idle and slightly above. Compressor was leaking oil and was replaced and had not started to come apart. Boost pump was replaced as well. Miss has gotten worse and the injectors will be sent in within a week. My question is this the air filter for the compressor had come apart and the paper was sucked into the front of the motor. The merc mechanic at the shop is not the least bit concerned about this and says it would go right thru and be burnt in the exhaust what say you guys?

Takes no time to inspect the reeds and give you peace of mind. If reed pedal isn’t sealing properly it will be most noticeable where your symptom is occurring.

While you are looking for debris, replace the reeds with chris carsons fiber reeds and be done with it. To answer your question, paper should not be a problem with your motors internals..

Also not sure how dirty old air filter was. Ask the merc mechanic Where he thinks all the dirt dust particles that were trapped in the filter media went? Right into the intake in one lump sum where we want to keep it out.
Dirt/dust ingestion gets trapped in ring lands...

Add some low cost CCR reed stuffers and make sure reed cages get lapped ESPECIALLY if they are rubber cages when your in there.

Yep it’s a problem if you haven’t found it it will plug the air injection. Might not need them clean but definitely need to pull the air rail apart and find the torn pieces.
