Transom Brackets with 3 Tabs Issue

I have this mid that I want to mount onto my Bob's Jackplate, but it has these 3 tabs on the side that I am not familiar with. The area on the jackplate to mount is just wide enough to mount a regular mid, because of the rail/slider system Bob's uses. What are these used for? Can I cut them off, shape it, and make it like they were never there? I don't want to use spacers because then there is a clearance issue with the front mount steering when trimming up.

Haven’t see them in a while. Iirc the metal is kinda cranky so best to leave them. Chaz or another might have more infor about grinding on the mid

Yeah, I think I'll cut them off. I don't think it'll cause an issue.

If anyone strongly recommends against it, let me know before tomorrow. I need to get this motor built already
