    Fuel pump

I have 94 mariner 150hp outboard that when I connect the battery the fuel turns on and does not turn off. What could cause a fuel pump to continuously run? Please help lol.

Btw it would be a good idea to have battery disconnected
    while looking for the issue.

Thank you. Look like ground is good. I am starting to think ecu. I'm gonna see if I can find a shop that will test it for me.

On these outboards the ecm controls the fuel pump by
interupting the ground side of pump circuit. The positive
side is always hot. If you can’t get it repaired I have one
    off a 1999 175 and a 1996 or so 200.

I bought a cheap aftermarket replacement pump to replace the pump on my 92 xri 200 (bad idea). The pump looked the same, but when I installed it it was slightly longer than the original and the pump housing touched the block. When I attached the battery, it would run constantly. Obviously makes sense based on the explanation on how the ECM controls it per Tritontr19.
