Wait till they measure CO and or the EPA find out how bad 4s are then they will all need cats
Did you wonder why 4s run so rich so stink out the marina like they left the choke pulled out....to reduce NOX at a huge cost to CO

RAVE valves are extremely simple and have been proven to be reliable through many years of use. 10 peak hp may not tell the whole story as its more likely that they allow more power across the power band

This engine design will hopefully trickle down to the 75-90 I hope with time. Would it even be practical to loose a cylinder and make a 1.3 liter block with such large jugs? I could honestly care less with the exception of weight, fuel range and a good strong charging system. I'm not asking for much.

I'd take the new one, Makes lots of power. I believe there is a XB2002 doing mid 70's with one.

Wet noodle of a motor from all I've seen but maybe on the right light areo lifting hull it does better. I tried the WOT from idle, blah. Mid range cruise is not effortless. We all scratched each others heads. Nice stickers and black is slimming but still a big girth in a tight dress.

The valve, optimum port to port blowdown pulse arrival by delaying it at low rpm, effectively lowering the port roof.
Maintaining the arrival in the optimum efficiency range prior to port closing throughout the entire rpm range. Without the valve arrival is much earlier at low rpm which is detrimental to hp. The valve is programmed for rpm and likely load, throttle position and rpm to insure high loads at low to mid rpm are easily powered through by maintaining the low port as needed until the boat breaks free. Far more hp where you need it. Then raises the port to get the maximum from the actual duration at the big end. Sweet motor, add to that a thinking fuel and ignition so to speak.

Evinrude needs to do another one of their "Challenges" a showdown with all the popular 115's on the same hull, and 150's on the same hull.

Yes let's see it . I'm sure they did just that when setting the final tune and ensuring EPA certification prior to release. Can't have the other guy take the lead and win. Stern to stern tug of war?

I think the Mercs are butt ugly and the new Evinrudes look nice. Mercury failed miserably lately - their engines look like d*cks especially from the rear.

New mercs are definitely ugly , etecs are also hideous. ....I wish these companies would just ditch all this mid cowling nonsense and get rid of the pointy tops. Remember when outboards actually looked like outboards?

I like the alien cowl, but not the G2 or new 300R looks.

the new triple is bigger than 1/2 of 3.4
is the next motor a bigger V6?
