Evinrude Launches New 3-Cylinder E-TEC G2 Outboards
Press release
STURTEVANT, Wis., – Evinrude announced today the expansion of the revolutionary Evinrude E-TEC G2 product line to include 115 H.O., 140HP and 150HP models. Evinrude’s extended line-up is designed to give more boaters confidence on the water - in any situation.
CONFIDENCE THROUGH INNOVATION AND PERFORMANCE
Shattering the paradigm for mid-range outboards, the new models house a direct injection inline three-cylinder powerhead. Delivering refined running quality, and quiet operation, the 115 H.O., 140HP and 150HP models enhance the complete boating experience. With more torque and fuel efficiency at lower RPMs than comparable four-stroke engines, the new E-TEC G2 models give boaters extended cruising capabilities and more power whenever it’s needed. In addition to the thrilling performance, all E-TEC G2 engines are worldwide emissions compliant and have the most user-friendly ownership experience with no break-in period, no dealer-scheduled maintenance for five-years or 500 hours, five-year factory backed service coverage and no engine oil changes, ever.
“We are proud to continue the legacy of Evinrude innovation in 2019 and well into the future,” said Tracy Crocker, president of the BRP Marine Group. “By bringing the E-TEC advancements to the 115 H.O., 140HP and 150HP models, some of the most popular outboard sizes in the market, we are once again, delivering the pinnacle in innovation and performance that inspires confidence in each and every Evinrude owner as they pursue their life on the water.”
THE CONFIDENCE TO KNOW THAT THIS COULD BE THE BEST DAY ON THE WATER… EVER
Evinrude now packs next-generation technology such as digital shift and throttle, the iTrim control system, digital instrumentation, custom color panels and optional iSteer dynamic power steering into outboards from 115 H.O. to 300 horsepower. Evinrude also added a new look and feel for the 2020 product year. All E-TEC G2 engines will have new premium graphics and give owners the option of white or slate gray frame and two new propellers. In addition, the 115 H.O. and 140 models will be available with premium controls and gauges, as well as a tiller option that feature touch troll and trim switches, LED’s for basic diagnostics and an NMEA 2000 connection for integration with external gauges and accessories.
Evinrude’s engine line up, from 3.5 to 300 HP, offers customers superior value across a full range of applications, and are available at authorized Evinrude dealerships worldwide. Follow Evinrude on Facebook at www.facebook.com/brpevinrude.

Brp skis had RAVE valves 20 years ago, I'm glad to see there helping keep 2 stroke outboards progressing.
Still want to see spec's.

That RAVE technology is what interests me. Dirt bikes have had powervalves for a while now, 20+ years. But I have always wondered why they never made it into outboards. I'm guessing the RAVE technology is like a powervalve. The only think I see would probably be the carbon buildup on them could get them stuck, from idling

The part of the pop mechs story about the low weight causing problems made me wonder. How lite are these things? The old 6 cyl 150's were in the 420# range. With 1/2 the cyls these things must be crazy lite for a 150.

If they can keep it under 400lbs or right at it. I think they'll have something. I hope all the integrated crap on the g2 platform doesn't make it a whale.

Mercs 150 4s is 456#'s. The more I run one the more I like them. Friend has one on his 20' Lake and bay flats. Goes 50 or so and planes instantly. Fuel economy is still not as good as a v-6 opti. And is heavier by a few #'s. The 175 is 470#'s.

That RAVE valve only adds 10 HP. Seems like a lot of complication for 10HP. Is there another benefit besides peak HP?
