Don't drag race is with sticky tires or it will blow up the rear end. I saw one do it and it damaged the undercarriage so badly, it totaled the car.

My brother's 2007 Boxster costs as much to maintain as my 1969 Lotus. Porsche maintenance ain't cheap.

Front OEM rotors for the Panamera are around a grand each for the front not including pads...

I think I'll stick with the old air cooled models!

50 year old Lotus parts are dirt cheap. Ten year old Boxter parts are expensive, but needed less often.

Based on the above post Panamerica parts are crazy expensive.

The Hellcat would be quicker and perhaps less expensive.

Sure, if you go into the dealership they might cost this much but just a 20 second google search yielded this. https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/20...ake_rotor.html

    Factory parts here https://www.suncoastparts.com/catego...BRAKESREP.html.

Not much more than Dodge parts.

Did you miss the part where I said "OEM"? On the up side, the labor cost to replace the pads is minimal. That means you just compress the pucks, pull pins, pull the old pads out, etc. No need to remove the caliper.

No, I didn’t, the 2nd link is a Porsche dealer. Factory OEM front rotors, $550 for the pair. Go into a Dodge dealer and price front rotors for a Hellcat. Dodge OEM price for front rotors is $1005.00 per rotor, $2010.00 for the pair. Panamera rotors are 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the Dodge/Brembo rotors.

Credit Porsche’s history in endurance racing for the development of the top feed pads. Back in the day they would go through many sets of pads for Le Mans, this saved them precious seconds in the pits.

Corvette back in the pioneer days of disc brakes had a vacuum system, hook it to the brake line and pull a vacuum, it pulled the pucks back and pad swaps were easy.

I didn't mean to imply they were the only ones doing it. However, one thing that Porsche did better than most was transitioning that into production. A lot of that was born out of necessity due to their small size compared to their competition.
