Thanks everyone, my Cuda started as a 1985 400 lb Sleekcraft SST so that is why I'm interested, I would LOVE to race it in this type of event, Let's go Tango, quit the moon walk

Back in the mid 80's Kim Howard and other MVP SST drivers wanted Bruce Nescher to narrow the front of the SST because of many blow overs but he liked the style and would not, so in the above pictures you can see I lost over a foot in width in the front split the deck bent in down and shorten it a little, extending the rear.

Also did a V bottom kind of deal, Jimmy Clouser raced that version in ODBA and DSRA for a while.

Kim was a expert at getting the Sleeks to really go, watching him, you figured a blow over was any second.

My boat turns on that width using it in the first half of your turn, Bruce was way ahead of his time!!

This well set up STV won the overall a few years back running a 2L.
The race was set up to allow slower classes to have handicaps.
If I remember right the 2L class ran around 24 laps and the faster classes ran around 28ish.
This was based on qualifying times established on Fri for each class with the race being ran the following day.
And this was on the long course of 13 mile laps.

That would be awesome. You and your bud have a standing invitation to our place on the lower river where we test a couple days before the race.
