    WTB Mercury 300 ProMax

Looking to buy a 300 ProMax or a 300 ProMax X with a 25" shaft. I currently have a 1998 Mercury 250 EFI motor with 300 ProMax ECUs and 300 ProMax heads and would like to reuse my rigging. I'm not sure if my rigging is compatible with a 300XS or not? But a more fuel efficient motor would be a good thing.

That would be 2 of the least fuel efficient motors you are searching for. Find a 250 Optimax

So I'm widening my search to a 250 or 300 optimax, must have a 25" shaft length. I would also be interested in a complete motor minus the lower unit, since I have an extra torquemaster lower unit I can use to save me some cash.

The 300 Promax is NOT an efficient engine. My 2 on my Donzi 35ZF suck more fuel than a $ 1000 a night......welll you get my drift.
