    prop hub kit question...

I purchased this Mercury hub kit last year from Mercury dealer for Bravo 1 1 inch shaft but I think I'm missing something.

Inside ID of hub is 1.5 inches... should there be a plastic sleeve to reduce the size? Anyone have one if I need it?

    thanks

Looks like all the parts, some the pieces over the shaft don’t go all the way through, that’s where the part shatters to save the prop and shaft if you hit something solid.

Washer on small lip out, place sleeve in prop hub far as it will go, slide over shaft and engage prop hub over small lip, install splined piece over shaft and lock into the four groves in the sacrificial sleeve, screw on the washer and nut. Prop should be solid.

But many versions available might be wrong one if it moves in and out or wobbles

Agree, that's all the parts you need (other than the nut and tab washer). Tricky part is that they sell two lengths of this hub, so you need the right one to go with your prop. 3-7/8" vs 3-5/8". If the one you have is too long for your prop, you won't be able to seat the big brass thrust washer into the prop to support the rear of the assembly.
