When I had a CLE I had Bob's install the nose cone and then sent the gearcase to Hydromotive for Allison tweaking. Worked fine until the prop shaft broke.

Do you make your own cones or use somebody else's and finish the case from there?

Bob's does some pretty decent work but I know of at least 1 case they built for an SS that blew out and wouldn't drive worth a darn. Love Bob's stuff but they are probably the most "mass produced" so you might be better off where you can tell them what you want

True. I wonder if you could special order with a few adjustments. Most guys are using a Bob's kit anyway, with their own touch.

I did my own recently, primarily because I didn't want ANY Bondo or body filler. Only epoxy.

I don't know for sure if it's that important, but whoever you have do it maybe inquire if they can/will do an all-epoxy (plus the welding obviously) install for a bit more money.

Todd at Hydromotive also use to have a cones, and he is very knowledgeable about Allisons. He may still sell them.

It was Todd at Hydromotive that suggested having Bobs do their thing with fine tuning for the SS by Hydromotive.

Indeed, Bob's is tack welded in 5 places, and he only uses epoxy, have to be careful not to overheat and melt things on the inside due to excessive heat. I've had 3 lowers from him and been very pleased, he done my old m2 with a dual port system for 750 I believe
