Before i started this post i spent a bunch of time searching foils and the general consensus was that the thick cast foils were cavitation plate brakers. Im running a motor that lacks in the low end department and being on a heavier boat the holeshot pretty much sucks. I did put a skid plane on last year and it did help out quite a bit but looking to improve it a little more. So far it sounds like the allison plate may be the ticket but kinda surprised no comments on the mike ray foil, must be more for a drag racing application

Yeah they work well but you said your low on power, so it might be too much for your application, add a little compression that helps the bottom end

A compression increases on this motor has been on my list of things to do. Any advice on a cc to make around 150 lbs on a bridgeport?

Try Jay Smith, or someone that does outboard machine work, what is your cold cranking compression?

It's easy to set up 24 volt starting circuit also, just need a small battery because you need Volts not amps

Yup when i did the rebuild on the bridgeport i did cut the heads. Wanna say they are at 34cc now. Was going to use a set of 2 liter heads. Have heared it will get compression to 150 but also heard the squish clearance wont be correct

In DSRA/ODBA they let you run 26cc heads on a stock 260 and 300 Drags must run stock compression 36ish ?

and that little difference evens things out pretty good

Thank you everyone for chiming in and offering advise. Im leaning towards a allison foil. I went to the allison site to find out a price but couldn't find the foils. Is there someone here that sells them
