450r price is about 115% the national average income. Back in 1991-92, a 260 was about 75% the national average income. So for a relative price increase of 50% you get 75% more power, far lower maintenance, and a motor that’s many times easier to live (not even taking into account fuel economy and emissions improvements). Of course I’d like to see them go on sale for $10k so I won’t be buying one, but you have to put things in perspective.

I think this motor’s price is comparable or even cheaper than the 400ros that’s been out a few years. Also, just for giggles, compare the power, weight and price to the Yamaha 425 and which would you rather own?.

You guys aren’t asking the right questions. The real question is can I put a aftermarket blower on the 300r and get 450hp or even the 14k 225v8 proxs.

Sure you can, but the warranty might suffer. I would rather see the after market delve into making it a screaming NA. The torque is there...just start wicking this thing up.

Anyone looking to rig a boat with a pair that needs all the goodies probably looking at $110,000.00 dollars.

Makes what I paid for my "Old, beater 28 Skater with 300X's" seem like a bargain

Most of the guys that are buying new boats with these motors view that amount like we do dinner money. Different levels but its so cool to watch, dream, and catch a ride. The other side of the equation is that a lot of inboard guys spend that amount or more every year to keep stuff fresh and running.

It doesn't matter what Jaco's prices them at if they can't get them. They have the best prices on the 300R's but when I called last week, they said they have only gotten 10 in the last year. I've gotten 15 so far and have 13 more ordered.

just found these on Torrente's FB

already has the 400R's sold and waiting for new motors?

curious if he's getting the 450's? Would be curious to see how his Skater32 runs with them

Noli you should already know that they will be on and rigged by the end of July. I predict 140 with his propeller connection D.D.
