    Now that black boat is just embarrassing! What's wrong with two supercharged MTU's 1200hp each in a big boat? If Mercury thinks marketing that they don't make powerful enough engines is a good plan... Ok! But otherwise - jeeebus!

    And where do you suggest the put them on that hull?

    If mercury wanted big car motors in it they would shove some merc racing 1350/1550/1650s in it.

    One could argue that there's a point of diminishing return when it comes to boat size and Outboards.

    Low maint. is the selling feature IMO. Bolt it on, fuel and oil it and forget it. And more room in the boat. Easy to see why everyone is swinging that way. Now, if they could just build the darn o/b things fast enough.........
