Save your pennies if you want to be fast because you are going to be able to buy more speed then anyone has ever imagined. That's all I know. Thank God for Mercury racing and their non wavering faith in the performance boat market, without them we would all be trying to keep hopped up Yamahas alive on the outboard side and dealing with non warrantied aftermarket inboard stuff on the big power.
Who ever thought that you would be able to go and order a 1350 hp that was reliable and ran on pump fuel? Want to run race gas? order up your 1750 qc4 and let her eat...

I don't think they need anymore inboard power do you? Any cat made and rigged with 1350s will run North of 165 mph.

This site won’t be happy unless they announce they’re bringing the 2.5 back.

I used to modify everything to get the most smile effect possible. Today, all of the work is pretty much done and minimal changes are required . 275 hp pump gas sleds, 800 hp cars, new 450 motocross bikes, 1000 cc side by sides, 9 second street bikes off the floor, 180 mph boats turnkey...Just need the resources to buy them and you will either feel young again or die trying to.

That stuff is so far in the past (It was peaked 20 years ago). Wait until some N2O, boost, or turbos get applied to the new four strokes and guys that can afford to will make the 2.5 a distant memory. Its happened with everything else in motorsports besides outboards up to this point.

Well, it is a well known fact that a Mercury 1350 has less impact on the environment than a 2.5. 5 times the power output has no impact on fuel consumption and emissions because 1350 hp doesn't need more energy than a couple of hundred... With more efficient engines comes bigger and heavier boats to carry them. H*ll, it is also a well known fact that bigger boats are safer... Bigger boats cost more money so only the well off or the ones with good credit get to show off at the sand bar, also wealthy people are better and safer drivers. The riff raff with Allison, Hydrostream, STV, Mirage, Bullet etc and outgoing 2-stroke engines have no business being on the water. * ** ***
I am going to run the snut out of my 2.5 and then I am taking up sailing again. ****

From what I hear we can’t even a 300R till late August if we wanted one so releasing something else sounds crazy to me. But I would to see a 450 lol
