Arctic Cat and Yamaha did it with the sleds. Kawasaki and Suzuki did it with the dirt bikes. Look at the number of employees that go away-

Ford just ditched 10% of it's white collar workforce world wide. I believe they have finally exceeded the critical price point for the trucks and few cars they still build. Too damn complicated now with all the crap they load on them. I used to buy a new one every few years. Now, after the bitter taste of the price of new exceeding the quality you get I am no longer buying new. 80k for a truck, that's just crazy.......

Just consolidate what is left into a govt motors. As it is now various govt agencies dictate most every facet of auto design/engineering...well you can still pick a color. Might as well make it official

Back in 90 I got a pimped out F250 4x4 for 9k. 2001 I got a loaded expedition 4x4 for 26k. 2005 mustang gt for 18k. 2011 stang gt for 22k. 2013 F 150 4x4 pimped out for 35k. How the hell did we get to 80k for a truck in just 6 yrs? Expedition loaded now costs 90k? Who can afford these things? Not very many actually can. And the fools that finance for 10-15 yrs are just that, fools. I have been waiting for the truck market to collapse to get a newer one. Might have my chance.

For the 80 or 90K a new truck cost, I'd spend the money of a frame of restored older collector truck first. Looks better, any one can maintain it, won't loose value.

My Camaro is up on stands in my garage getting some love too. I have Ferds, and chebbys. Never had a dodge, but like the challengers. And of course the old muscle of any kind.

You can still buy a truck for under 40K, only the overloaded top line over fancy trucks cost 80k. Sticker price means nothing, every truck except the new Jeep Gladiator has BIG incentives. It’s a financial gimmick to fudge the down stroke on a purchase.
