McMaster - Carr is a great source of specialty, bolts , nuts, washers , glues , billet , all kinds of plastics , hoses , tools , etc and with over 4,000 pages of most anything you would ever need , Ive always thought if they don’t have it I don’t need it ...
    Good luck ,
    Jay

Chaz is on the money on this one guys.....

i used to use tygon......till I had an engine fire. That stuff melted in no time. Ever since I’ve used 1/8” reinforced fuel line. I like the Gates stuff. It’s super tough, will out live the motor, and I think it looks cool too.

I use the Napa fuel injector grade high pressure line where it needs to be used that “sees” high fuel pressures . Ive been building these 25 years NEVER had a fire yet , but I use top tear products on my customers engines , I attach hoses with the correct size pinch clamps and they don’t leak ...And vacuum lines with ty straps .
I have 1 out of 5 high performance motors come in here with tygon on vaccum and oil service with no ty straps that been in place for years still attached with no issues and have to be cut off !

In conclusion one would hope people will use what is number one SAFE , what works and the product chosen is designed for ...

    Happy Holidays to all ,

I got 2 rolls of Tygon,3/32 I do believe and is a nice tite fit, i do use zip ties on all hoses but the stuff from promarine actually says jet ski oil injection line , well for what ever reason , I've replaced 4 lines in 25hrs of run time ,, tryin stay away from "lean city" maybe the stuff McMaster's is tougher sum how , but my motor dosent run hot and they ain't pulled tite , so what's the difference in promarine and McMaster's tygon?

If your between checks one can hydro lock open and blow over the barb.

I normally find a different o.d. Through the brands. Or thin wall you might say.

Thing is a bleed shouldn’t have all that much pressure. Might check it’s not the barb threads.

    Merc 2.5 ,
Your tubing is heading your way Tuesday USPS , if the other stuff I sent you is confusing text me and I’ll walk you through it , it will save your cheesy upper bearing , been saving my guys stuff for 20 years

    Good luck ,
    Jay

BTW , when I drystack a motor the spent water lines that had a restriction button on the end I dry the barb off and add a dab of yellow 3M weather stripping when dry it’s THERE !!!

Mercury knew they had their share of fires and near fires. Some they paid out on, others they have no idea what your talking about. We as consumers can either follow the trend they themselves started on all 3.0L models in the mid 90's and still use on current outboards and I.O. models.
If your building a museum or period correct piece that runs for maybe two minutes at a time, then by all means 1980's tech is for you.
If you have an older 2.5 and are open minded. Or have a newer motor and need replacement hoses and want to use what Mercury puts on "all" their motors today "production or racing" without spending the Mercury price. Then the NAPA /Gates Greenshield Barricade hose is the same thing.
NAPA also sells bolts .. LMAO But I've been buyin in Bulk from Worth fastener, McMaster-Carr and MSC Direct .. fer pert near, well, when I need regular junk. The rest of the time I buy "grip to length" from Skybolt/Milspec in Apopka Fla.

For fuel supply lines If your Motor is carbed you can safely use the non fuel injection grade fuel supply line , if EFI I suggest use the high pressure lines , Most fuel lines are placarded as to their safe usage , you can also look at the end of the lines and tell , the low pressure have fewer nylon supports than the higher pressure lines , the high pressure EFI fuel supply lines have lots more support nylon support the high pressure ...
Most boaters I know are choosing the eth. Compatible fuel lines ...

    Good luck,
    Jay

I don't like the "marine" ethanol compatible lines with the plastic liner. I've seen too many with the barb shoved between the liner and the outer hose material blocking the fuel flow. It's easy to do even if you think you're paying attention...

I usually just use automotive grade fuel hose.
